IDEM 319 GRANT

OBJECTIVES:

• Identify sources of water quality impairments.

• Educate the community about the water quality problems and their severity.

• Determine Best Management Practices to improve the water quality issues

• Promote and facilitate sound conservation practices impacting water quality.

• Be able to seek financial resources to facilitate project activities to:

o Reduce the current level of E. coli by 10 % by 2014

o Reduce current levels of sediment loads 10 % by 2014.

o Reduce nitrogen loads 10 % by 2014

o Reduce phosphates by 10% by 2014

We are in the process of applying for a 319 grant from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for the Lower Eel River Watershed. This grant has required us to put together a management plan for the watershed. You may view this plan by clicking on the link below.
